St. Louis Science Center is located in St Louis, Missouri. It was built in 1963 as a planetarium. The complex is composed of several buildings that include a planetarium and a science museum. The science center is found in the southeast part of Forest Park. There are over 750 exhibits found in about 300,000 square feet of land area. For this reason, it is considered the largest of its type in the country. The planetarium was named after James S. McDonell, who is an aerospace manufacturer that donated equipment for the said center. It has a unique shape that was designed by Gyo Obata, who also designed the Smithsonian Museum. In 1997, the Exploradome was added to the main science center that s used for exhibits and learning center.

The St Louis Science Center is accessible to several cities like Fairmont City and Kings Oak. Alligator Creek Aquatic Center is situated inside the O’Fallon Civic Park.
