Adirondack Regional Airport – SLK Airport
Adirondack Regional Airport is a full-service facility that holds regular commercial flight services as well as charter flights and a full-service facility for private aircrafts. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems categorizes it as a non-primary commercial service airport. As of 2010, the airport has seen a total of 5,762 passengers. One airline serves the airport under the subsidy of the Essential Air Service program. The airport is located in Saranac Lake, Franklin County, New York.

Plans for the building of SLK Airport started in 1940 but it was only until 1942 that the construction of the airfield was completed. In 1948 a terminal building was constructed and in 1950 the construction of a hangar. Back in the days, the airport was classified as a Class III airport and was considered one of the best of its kind in the United States. Today, Adirondack Regional Airport stands on 1,499 acres of land and has two-asphalt paved runways. As of 2018, the airport had a total of 6,940 aircraft operations, averaging 18 operations per day including general aviation, air taxi, and military. Cape Air serves the airport with destination flights to Boston. Residents from neighboring cities like Diamond Point, South Glens Falls, and North River also use SLK Airport.
