Sanming, China: City of Coal, Iron and Ore
From a small forested local market to an industrial base, Sanming, China managed to make the most of its transformation. The place happens to be not only the birthplace of Zhu Xi, one of the great philosophers of the Nan Song Dynasty, but also of coal, iron and ore among other minerals abundantly conquering the ground.
