One of the international airports of the city of Shanghai located on the east of the heart of the city is the Shanghai Pudong International Airport. It is also one of the main aviation centers in China. While the other main airport of the city, the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, usually serves flights for domestic and regional, PVG Shanghai mostly serves international flights.

Shanghai Pudong International Airportoccupies 10,000 acres of land adjacent to the coastline of Pudong’s eastern part. It has four operational runways, with two passenger terminals on both sides with 83 gates. In addition to a satellite terminal and two runways, a third passenger terminal has been planned since 2015 to maximize the airport’s capacity to 80 million passengers yearly and also to be able to handle six million tons of freight. The airport has a wide range of shops, eateries that offers Chinese and Western cuisine. Most of the eateries that are open for 24 hours are located in Terminal 2. Duty-free outlets and other gift shops are also available at the airport. A convenience store can also be seen in Terminal 1 and is also open for 24 hours. Few airport lounges are also available for those passengers who want to rest or has a long layover. PVG Shanghai is the airport of choice from passengers in nearby cities like Hutai, Pengzhen,and Qibao.
