Namniwel Airport - NAM
Access to the Maluku Islands of Indonesia is through the Namniwel Airport (NAM) near Namlea City on Buru Island in Indonesia. It serves as one of the few gateways to the Maluku Islands, better known as the Spice Islands. The Maluku Islands are comprised of about 1027 islands, including the sparsely populated yet largest islands, Halmahera and Seram. The most developed islands are Ternate and Ambon, where an international airport is located.

The Namniwel Airport (NAM) services Aviastar, Susi Air, and Wings Air, all airlines are flying to and from Ambon, Maluku. The Namniwel Airport was completed in 2015 and in November 2017, began serving commercial flights with its 1600-meter runway, 185-meter taxiway, and 9170-square meter apron. The airport is equipped with x-ray baggage, an x-ray cabin, three walk-through metal detectors, a fire truck and ambulance. Buses are also on hand to transport travelers to and from the city of Namlea.

There are three nearest airports to Namniwel Airport, with Namrole Airport (NRE) on the southernmost part of Buru Island, Emalamo Airport (SQN) to the north on the Sulabes Island, and the Pattimura International Airport (AMQ) on Ambon Island to the east.
