Lincoln Airport - LNK

Lincoln Airport is a public and military airport, found five miles outside downtown Lincoln. It is located in Lincoln, Nebraska and serves Southern and Central Nebraska including Lincoln, Ashland, Syracuse, Papillion, La Vista, and more. Owned by the City of Lincoln, it is operated by the Lincoln Airport Authority. The airport’s primary runway was designed to serve as an emergency-landing site for the Space Shuttle, however it was never used for such purpose. In addition to serving commercial flights, Lincoln Airport is also home to the Lincoln Air National Guard Base.

LNK began as an airfield. In 1928, it became a sop for United Air Lines, a service that continues to the present. There are three runways, which all have concrete/asphalt surfaces. It covers 5,000 acres and sits at an elevation of 1,219 feet above mean seal level. In 2016, Lincoln Airport handled 62,770 aircraft operations.
