Kota Kinabalu Wetlands Centre is a 24-hectare mangrove forest. It was once a vast mangrove forest located along Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia’s coastal region which gradually diminished after a long period. It was formerly called Likas Swamp, later Kota Kinabalu City Bird Sanctuary, and finally its present name. It serves as an important feeding ground and refuge by residents and migratory birds.
