Set 6 miles away from the downtown of Detroit, the Coleman A. Young International Airport is a city-owned airport serving Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Pro Air and Southwest Airlines used to serve flights at the airport. Chautauqua Airlines also served the DET airport but stopped operations after a year. As of today, no passenger airline service is scheduled at the airport. The DET-Coleman A. Young International Airport was previously known as Detroit Airport and was later renamed after the city’s former mayor, Coleman A. Young, in 2003.

Coleman A. Young International Airport (DET) stands in a 107-hectare of land and has two asphalt runways. The airport’s passenger terminal is consisting of spaces for restaurants, airline facilities, passenger lounges and more. The US Customs department currently operates the passenger terminal that serves cargo and private planes.
