David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts was formerly known as Tampa Bay Performing Art Center. It is located in the city of Tampa, Florida. The center was opened in 1987. In 2009, the name was changed to David A. Straz Jr, who is recognized for its donation to the said cultural institution. Also known as Straz Center, it is covering about 9 acres of land. It is within the eastern banks of Hillsborough River. Next to Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts, it is known as the second-largest complex in the Southeastern region.
