University of Illinois Willard Airport – CMI Champaign
University of Illinois Willard Airport (CMI) is located in Savoy in Champaign, Illinois. It is nestled in Tolono Township named in honor of the former president of the University of Illinois, Arthur Cutts Willard. In 1969, CMI-Champaign is regarded as the second busiest airport in the entire state of Illinois. In 1945, the airport was established but the terminal building was only constructed in 1960. CMI also became the base of the University of Illinois Institute of Aviation.

CMI-Champaign has five terminal gates and three runways. This airport can be easily accessed from Route 45 and is only 5 miles of downtown Champaign. Passengers can reach the closest expressway on Interstate 57 in 4 miles.
