It is under the Department of Health and Human Services and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia USA. It is intended to protect public health and safety not only in the US but internationally. It controls and prevents disease, injury, and disability to improve American citizens’ health. It combats especially on infectious disease and foodborne pathogens and promotes and educates the public about environmental health, injury prevention, occupational safety, and health.
