The city of Windhoek serves as Namibia’s capital and is also the country’s largest city. Hosea Kutako International Airport is Namibia’s biggest airport and is operated by Namibia Airports Company Limited.
WDH was named after Hosea Kutako, the country’s national hero and was established in 1965. Back then, WDH was known as J.G. Strijdom Airport in honor of South Africa’s prime minister. The airport’s name was changed to Hosea Kutako International Airport in 1990 after the country gained independence.
