Valencia Airport in Valencia, Spain is one of the tenth busiest airports in Spain in terms of passenger traffic. The airport is situated 4.5 miles awat from the main city of Valencia. Seasonal flights to Copenhagen, Edinburgh and East Midlands are also served in the region. VLC Airport features a new regional terminal as well as new expanded parking areas and a new apron area that have been constructed as part of the region’s preparation for the 2007 America’s Cup. An additional 50 meters was added to the runway. At present a single terminal and a single runway is featured in the region. The airport serves as the main base of the regional carrier of Valencia - Air Nostrum. Ryanair used to use the airport as its main hub up until 2008. Pinedo, El Saler and El Palmar are located conveniently close to the airport area.
