Opened to the public in 1968, the Tysons Corner Center is one of the first fully enclosed, climate-controlled malls in the McLean, Virginia. It is set 12.5 miles from the Central Business District of Washington D.C. and has the Tysons Galleria mall as a neighbor across the Chain Bridge Road. Tysons Corner Center is the largest shopping mall in the state and also in the area of Baltimore-Washington. It is also one of the first super-regional malls in the county which draws customers from a multi-area state. From its opening until the 1990's, the mall has contained a broad and diverse mix of retail stores. Some of its anchor stores are Nordstrom, Old Navy, and H&M. 


Tourists can also swing by the nearby city of Washington for more added attraction and sightseeing activities. A wide array of hotels and accommodation line the streets outside the Tysons Corner Center. A full-service spa, including a whirlpool and an indoor pool, a sauna, and steam rooms can be enjoyed at The Ritz-Carlton, Tyson Corner. A restaurant, a bar, and a garden can also be relished by guests at the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center. A morning walk or an afternoon stroll at United States Botanic Garden shouldn’t be missed while in the area. The sprawling grounds features exotic flora, rare plants gallery, and butterfly garden. Safari wagon rides can be experienced at Reston Zoo, which houses wildlife such as zebras, buffaloes, and a giraffe.
