About Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts Rio de Janeiro (and vicinity)

Founded in 1988, the flagship hotel of the Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts is the Suite Hotel Eden Mar, a 4-star hotel in Madeira. The brands first ever hotel featured 146 spacious rooms and suites. At present, the hotel chain has 13 hotels under its wings, 10 of which are in Portugal. Three hotels were launched and still operate in Brazil with a total of 3,200 beds, all in the 4-star and 5-star market categories.

All the hotels under the Port Bay Hotels & Resort umbrella features a different concept, all but maintaining the highest quality and living up with the guarantee of the PortoBay brand. There are six hotels in the island of Madeira, two in Lisbon and one each in the cities of Porto and Algarve. The three hotels in Brazil are located in Buzios, San Paulo and Rio De Janeiro. Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts first ever 5-star hotel property was opened in 1994, The Cliff Bay in Madeira. This property has 200 rooms and a scenic view of the Funchal Bay with easy sea access available. Its in-house restaurant, The II Gallo d’Oro has 2 Michelin stars. Exquisite and scenic locations are two of the common denominators among the properties under the hotel brand.
