Coonamble Airport – CNB Airport

Coonamble Airport is a public airport that’s located in Coonamble, New South Wales, Australia. Currently there are no passenger flight service offered by the airport, however, before 2008, the Air Link Airlines used to serve passengers with links to Dubbo.

CNB Airport is currently operated by the Coonamble Shire Council. The general maintenance of the airport is under the responsibility of the council. The airport receives light aircraft movements but majority are from the local Coonamble Aero Club. The same club also hosts flight training in the airport. Future plans for the airport include a potential air training school and the leasing of the airport’s excess lands. The airport is currently situated in an open grazing land. Several areas located nearby will largely benefit from the future services of the airport including Nebea, Bourbah, and Combara.

While the airport may not have any passenger service as of the moment, there are still a good number of hotels to choose from within close proximity not only to Coonamble Airport but to other nearby airports as well. Most of the accommodations available are motels or simple inns. One of them is the Coonamble Motel. Rooms are clean and basic amenities are provided. It is also well-situated for sightseeing. The Castlereagh Lodge Motel is a great option for families or big groups travelling together. Rooms are spacious with rooms available for bigger groups. An outdoor pool is also available on the property.

For passenger flights, locals can go to the nearest airport, the Dubbo City Regional Airport, less than two hours away.
