Bathurst Airport – BHS Bathurst
Bathurst Airport with code BHS is located at Bathurst, NSW, Australia. It is geographically situated in Central Tablelands. Today, it is only served by Regional Express Airlines. The construction of the airport was suggested by the local government before World War II. It has prompted them to establish Aerodrome that was utilized during the war. Commercial flights to Sydney commenced after the war. Currently, the airport is being used by flying schools as a training ground for pilots. The facility has two runways catering to major aircraft. There is also a secondary runway for glider aircraft. All runways are equipped with lighting.
Best Time to Visit
In 2010, there are about 8,000 landings in the airport. The majority of them are passenger flights and chartered aircraft. Currently, the airport is managed by the local government. One of the first flights to land in Bathurst came from Sydney. The history of the airport starts in the late 30s.

There are a lot of hotels that are less than 5 miles from the airport. Bathurst Motor Inn is located in the city center. It is also a short walk to the Macquarie River. The accommodation has a swimming pool and Barbeque facility. Another alternative is Country Lodge Motor Inn, which is 10 minutes from a walk to the train station. The hotel has free wifi and has parking for trailers. A 3-star property is the Ben Chifley Motor Inn is at the center of the historical city of Bathurst.
